The story of Poppy’s:


We opened in a LITTLE space in Raytown in ’97 as Doc’s. A decade later, we loved our Raytown customers but were looking for a bigger space so we moved to downtown Lee’s Summit and we’ve been here since! Plus, we got to add Broadway Café coffee to our menu. We went through a name change along the way also, obviously, but our product has always stayed the same fresh, local, in-house made ice cream and sorbets we hope you love!
We really couldn’t do it without our loyal, awesome customers.
Don’t let the name deceive you, there’s far more than coffee and ice cream in our store. We always have 4 different types of sorbet in our freezer, Chip’s Chocolate Factory treats on our shelves and many different ice cream concoctions you’ll have to come check out!

You can also find our ice cream around the city at restaurants, hotels and country clubs. We currently have ice cream at these restaurants around the city: Aixois, Grand Street Café, Café Sebastienne, Summit Hickory Pit, Foo’s Fabulous Frozen Custard, The Well and both Blue Koi locations. We’ve won many awards for our ice cream including The Pitch’s best ice cream in KC award in 2009 – so come check us out and judge for yourself.
